In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource available from a different server. The proxy server evaluates the request according to its filtering rules. For example, it may filter traffic by IP address or protocol. If the request is validated by the filter, the proxy provides the resource by connecting to the relevant server and requesting the service on behalf of the client. A proxy server may optionally alter the client’s request or the server’s response, and sometimes it may serve the request without contacting the specified server. In this case, it ‘caches‘ responses from the remote server, and returns subsequent requests for the same content directly.

The proxy concept was invented in the early days of distributed systems[1] as a way to simplify and control their complexity. Today, most proxies are a web proxy, allowing access to content on the World Wide Web.

IT departments spend a lot of time and money on network security. The restrictions are in place to protect not only to company data, but also for the safety of all persons on the company network. However, network restrictions not only for the business world, these restrictions also in schools and even in our homes. But what is the purpose of protecting your data and privacy when you eat with cyber rats through your defenses by constantly from the inside?

A proxy is often as fast as the network administrator determines that it is used to block unauthorized access to websites and other networks to give. That’s why people are constantly looking for new proxies brand and what scares me the most is the speed with which these new proxies are available, it is so bad that it even as another form of spam . The sad reality is that people know, use these proxies, or not know anything about PC security, or they did not give a damn about them. Browse restricted sites via illegal proxy makes your computer at risk to malicious software and hackers, putting the entire network. Confidential and sensitive business information can be easily filtered and the privacy of every individual employee to the corporate network could because of the selfish acts of employees who cannot walk between the rows will be affected. So you not only your colleagues in a difficult situation, you compromise your own safety as well.

Access the most popular reason for a proxy to social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Orkut or Twitter. The social networking sites are time wasters and money in terms of resource productivity, bandwidth, and the company. Instead of doing their jobs, people lose hours of productivity during the day, by hanging on social community sites. In order to make even worse, they do not chill with their own bandwidth to these sites, they use computers outside the bandwidth business and corporate client’s printers to do what they should do after work. Kids find these social communities instead of wasting their school work, money from their parents, or the money of the taxpayers if the government funds the school. Speaking of government, which employees about the government? Instead of the services that we pay, they sail on MySpace, Facebook, Orkut or Twitter with our taxes. (Some governments do not have any security of the network itself, so they can use any Web site without using a proxy access).

Do not get me wrong, I’m not against the use of social networking sites, but there is a time and place for everything and the social networking sites have no place in the office or at school (unless you are responsible to think of public relations for the company to the company profile on MySpace are). Before any catches me a spoilsport and me, the fun accused out of the office consider the following: If everyone spent more time on their work and less time for networking sites plans during working hours, we have a lot of work and a lot of time to go out have with friends and family to our favorite social networking sites. Do not be angry with your boss in order to restrict your access to the Internet that you use a proxy to Internet filtering imposed by the employer and other restrictions bypass once told me that you cannot use the Internet responsibly. If you really need to use this site, visit them after work or after school, and if you do not have a computer at home, with a friend’s computer or visit an Internet cafe. It should be noted however, that third parties are not only used proxies to access social networking sites, but they are also very popular for surfing and downloading porn software, pirated movies and music. These pages are far worse than the social networking sites because they not only waste valuable work hours, they are often associated with malware wicked, a direct threat to the safety of all persons charged on the network.

The bottom line is companies are heavily investing in IT security; computer labs in schools are doing their best to invest their networks safe and relatives in parental control software to prevent their young, access to harmful content on the Web. Nevertheless, you have people who want to break all these barriers, ignoring the damage they cause and the risks they create in this process. Bypass the parental control software on the family computer can easily banned to a place where a sneaky rootkit finds its way to lead into your system. It could use a credit card number is here and there and collect a password before your parents know what is happening, they are looking at bankruptcy in the face. The same can happen at work or at school; you can create your infected PC problems for many other people with the same network. You want something on your conscience? Proxies can be useful, but they should not be used to cross the border illegally digitally. If you are not allowed to visit a certain website at work or school, then there is probably a good reason why you should not visit. If you want to visit banned sites without proper authorization, you may lose your job, to suspend or even more stringent restrictions can be implemented in the network. Think about it, is it really worth all this?

People are so sensitive to this issue when they for new proxies in forums or Q & A communities, they often ask you to warn you in advance for not bitch, why should not use it. So the next time you meet someone asks for a proxy firewalls and internet filters, bypass do not waste your time explaining why they should use, contact with insults and curses, to refer only to this article.
